Yoga with Q

Yoga with QYoga with QYoga with Q

creative, community-centered yoga for all bodies and ages

About

Welcome to Yoga with Q!

I'm a lifelong teacher and learner. My decades of experience as an educator in many different arenas are one of my greatest assets as a yoga instructor. I bring to the mat not only a long, deep understanding of the practice and philosophy of yoga, but also a lifetime of experience working with others and finding the best ways to engage students in all situations and at all levels.

My journey with yoga began more than 20 years ago, when I turned to it as a way to care for both my body and my mind - integrating the physical, asana practice with the theory and philosophy of yoga. Shortly after I began, I realized that the passion I have for teaching in an academic classroom translates very well to teaching in a yoga studio.

Since earning my RYT-200 certification and beginning to teach public and private classes in 2022, I have enjoyed the community that comes from practicing yoga with others, as well as the joy of figuring out the best ways to help students integrate yoga into their lives, physically and philosophically.

You can find out more about one of my other endeavors at wellreadtravelers.com.

Teaching

My classes center intelligently sequenced vinyasa flows, designed with attention to the needs of the class and the season. I offer sequences with options for many levels and for all bodies. Interwoven with these creative flows are moments of meditation and breathwork, and opportunities to workshop and play with new or advanced asanas.

In my public and private classes, you’ll find welcoming spaces that emphasize community and curiosity. You’ll move, breathe, rest, and play, with an invitation to let what you find on the mat guide the rest of your day - whether that’s strength, flexibility, ease, or simply a little more joy in the world around you.

Private Classes

One-on-One or Group Classes

In addition to my public classes, I offer group and individual private yoga lessons.

Consider organizing a group of friends, coworkers, or family for private classes - or sign up for one-on-one sessions to get the most dedicated, individualized instruction. I’m also available for regular classes or occasional workshops for your workplace or other organization.

Private lessons can be tailored to all levels and age groups. Rates vary depending on class size and location.

Email me to discuss the possibilities and let me help create the right practice for you!

What You Can Do in Private Classes

  • deepen your overall practice
  • get individualized instruction as you start practicing yoga for the first time
  • address the transitions and challenges of practicing yoga at different ages and   stages of life
  • focus on a particular kind of movement or breath, or a particular area of the body
  • work toward a specific pose or other goal
  • develop an individualized practice to help recover from an injury or from a long time away from yoga
  • understand how the overall practice of yoga—not just the asanas and the  physical practice!—can fit into your life
